Q - Do I need to sign a contract?
Absolutely not! We don’t believe in restrictive contracts or other agreements that make customers feel trapped or uncomfortable. Simply the Best is a continuous lawn service, which means we will return to your property every year until you tell us to stop!
Q - Do I need to be home for my initial visit?
No, while we would love the opportunity to introduce ourselves and talk to you about your lawn, you can relax and leave the lawn to us. We will leave an invoice and watering instructions at your door once the job is finished and you can review our recommendations once you return home. When you establish your account, you can provide us with any necessary details, such as gate codes, keys, guard dogs, or any other important information that we should be aware of.
Q - Can you prevent all the weeds in my lawn?
No, unfortunately nobody can. There are over 50,000 different broadleaf weeds. Contrary to popular belief, weeds like dandelions cannot be prevented; they can only be treated and controlled when present and actively growing. We can, however, control 90% of the weeds that bother homeowners the most.
Q - Do I need to water in the treatment?
If it doesn’t rain within several days of your treatment, you should water your lawn. This will ensure that you get full results from the fertilizers and pre-emergent weed-control that was applied. If you would like to keep your lawn at its best, make sure you continue to water it on at least a weekly basis if we don't receive adequate rainfall!
Q - What happens if it rains hard during or right after the treatment?
The great thing about rain is that it can only benefit treatments of pre-emergent herbicide and fertilizer. However, broadleaf weed control efficacy may be impacted. After waiting 10 to 14 days, if your weeds have still not died please call and our team will quickly come out and apply a free re-treatment if need, completely free of charge!

Simply the Best offers a variety of lawn care programs to choose from. Among them, our "Green Up & Grow VIP" Program offers the most comprehensive lawn care results and includes virtually everything your lawn might need except mowing and watering. Similarly, our "Green Up & Grow" and "Green Up & Grow Plus" plans offer the same type of care on a 4 to 6 week basis but eliminates several of the services our VIP Program offers for those looking to save some money.;
Q - Can I pay for services with check or credit card?

For those that wish to set up regular payments, we offer automatic credit card payments online. If you have any further questions, feel free to call us about our billing services. You can also save if you choose to pre-pay for your annual services in advance.
Q - Are your treatments harmful to our kids or pets?
While pesticides are not totally risk free, the best way to ensure your family, children, and pets can enjoy your beautiful lawn is to have the professionals take care of it. When we treat your lawn, we make sure no risks are taken when it comes to pesticide concentration and storage. We make sure that our products are diluted according to label instructions and applied as recommended, keeping your entire family and loved ones safe from harm. Every person making pesticide applications on our team are fully trained and licensed according to state regulations and use these products on nearly a daily basis, giving us the insight and skill to ensure pesticides are handled correctly and minimal risk is taken.
In most cases, pets can return to your lawn as soon as the liquid treatment has dried. This can take around 30 minutes to an hour, causing minimal disruption to your life.
Q - How long should I leave the sign placed in my lawn after treatment?
We recommend that you leave the sign in the lawn for 24-48 hours.
Q - Can I mow the day you spray for weeds?
You will get better results if you wait for 24 hours to allow the weed control time to translocate into the plant for optimum control. Always refer to your post treatment instructions left behind by our service reps for mowing and watering instructions.
Q - How often should I water my lawn?
The average lawn needs an inch of water per week, either from rainfall or irrigation to look its best. Longer, less frequent watering is more beneficial that watering more often for shorter periods. Time of day is important too: watering in the morning is best because less water will evaporate, while watering late evening or at night encourages lawn fungus diseases. A thick, green lawn has stronger, deeper roots and uses water more efficiently, helping it withstand drought and adverse conditions.
Q - Do I have to contact you every spring to renew my services?
No, Simply the Best is a continuous service, so we will continue to provide service season to season until you tell us otherwise. Your lawn has continual year-round needs, and many treatments need to be applied at specific times of the season to properly work. The first treatment in early spring needs to be applied on a timely basis, so we’ll be out as early as possible or as weather allows to begin. You may stop service at any time, but please call us to inform us of that. We will always send out annual renewals in late fall and again over the winter to let you know about the next year’s upcoming service, and offer prepay discount at that time as well.
